"Plan to Actively Promote Regulatory Relief"
On the 23rd, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a meeting with startups in the robotics field at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon. This meeting was held to address the difficulties faced by related startups as the cultivation of robotics startups is being actively promoted through the ‘Super-gap Startup 1,000+ Project (Super-gap Project)’ starting this year. For the first time this year, the Ministry strategically selected and is supporting the ‘robotics field.’
The meeting was attended by 10 startups, related experts, and organizing institutions. It proceeded with presentations on industry trends in the robotics field and the technological level of robotics startups participating in the Super-gap Project, followed by listening to difficulties and discussions. Cho Joo-hyun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, “The role and importance of robotics are expected to expand increasingly for the growth of our economy and small and medium enterprises. We will discover and nurture promising companies in the robotics field with innovative capabilities at the early startup stage, and furthermore, actively promote the expansion of investment and financial support, as well as regulatory relief, alongside the Super-gap Project so that they can grow into robotics unicorns.”
