Seoul Gangseo-gu 'Social Enterprise Bommaji Market' Held

"Enjoy ethical consumption and cultural performances at the free market with social economy enterprises."

Gangseo-gu, Seoul announced that it will hold the '2023 Gangseo-gu Sabom Market' on the 25th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. around the street park next to Exit 1 of Balsan Station.

Under the theme of 'Spring Outing with Social Economy Enterprises,' the Sabom Market is a free market where over 30 participants including social economy enterprises, youth businesses, and small merchants gather to revitalize the local economy and promote ethical consumption.

The market is divided into product sales and recycling/upcycling corners.

At the product sales corner, visitors can find socially valuable products such as solid toothpaste, smart farm cultivators, vegan leather goods, eco-bags made from recycled banners, and cookies and bookmarks made by people with developmental disabilities.

At the recycling/upcycling corner, there will be sales of recyclable daily necessities like clothing and bags, as well as upcycling (recycling) experiential education that transforms waste materials such as ice packs and coffee grounds into new products.

The recycling/upcycling corner is expected to be a place to share the social value of 'recycling.'

Cultural performances open to everyone will also take place. Following a busking performance at noon, 'Quartet Rosso,' which performs classical music with a modern reinterpretation, and the acoustic band 'Dalm-eun,' known for their comfortable sound and popular music, will entertain visitors in the afternoon at 3 p.m.

A district official said, "We have prepared a place where various economic actors such as social economy organizations, youth businesses, and small merchants in the region can communicate," adding, "We hope many residents visit to practice ethical consumption and enjoy cultural arts."
