'2023 Goryeong-Friendly Industry Joint Seminar & Networking' to be Held at COEX on June 9
Kyung Hee University (President Han Gyuntae) announced on the 23rd that it will hold the "2023 Age-Friendly Industry Joint Seminar and Networking" on Friday, June 9, at COEX.
The event is co-hosted by Kyung Hee University's Digital New Aging Research Institute, which leads research on age-friendly industries and aging policies, Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, Maeil Business Newspaper Health, and Reha·Homecare (Homecare Rehabilitation Welfare Exhibition, June 8?10). The age-friendly industry includes age-friendly products, age-friendly food, senior housing, financial services, nursing care services, healthcare services, and smart care.
Kim Young-sun, director of Kyung Hee University's Digital New Aging Research Institute, stated, "The age-friendly industry seminar and networking will contribute to creating a sustainable ecosystem through the age-friendly industry and AgeTech, which are growth engines for the super-aged society in 2025." He added, "It will provide solutions for the growth of the age-friendly industry, improve the quality of services for elderly consumers and community institutions through AgeTech, and proactively respond to future care workforce issues, thereby contributing to a sustainable ecosystem."
The first part, the age-friendly industry joint seminar, will highlight recent issues in the domestic and international age-friendly industry. The keynote speech on "Directions for Promoting Age-Friendly Industry and Aging Policies" will be delivered by Yeom Min-seop, Director of the Elderly Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Health and Welfare. As an overseas case, Kazuhiro Saito, leader of the Senior Business Division, will present on "SOMPO Holdings' Digital Platform Strategy," a successful business model in Japan's age-friendly industry. This will be followed by a thematic presentation by Professor Kim Young-sun of Kyung Hee University's Department of Gerontology on "Review of Age-Friendly Industry and AgeTech: Application of Latest Technologies such as Generative AI."
The second part, the age-friendly industry networking, will facilitate free exchange of information and consulting among age-friendly industry-related companies and institutions. The age-friendly industry networking has been held annually for eight years, practically supporting many companies with growth strategies for the age-friendly industry as a future growth engine, elderly consumer analysis, and new business consulting. Currently, 360 companies and institutions are participating.
The seminar is free for anyone from age-friendly industry companies, institutions (hospitals, nursing facilities, senior housing, senior welfare centers, etc.), and individuals. The second part, the age-friendly industry networking, is a business networking event open free of charge to companies and institutions, with pre-registration available through the website until June 2.
