Ulsan’s Ulju-gun and Ulsan Technopark operated a joint exhibition hall consisting of 10 companies from Ulju-gun at the ‘Vietnam Saigon Autotech & Accessories (SALGON Autotech & Accessories 2023)’ exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from the 17th to the 22nd.
This exhibition is the 19th International Autotech Exhibition held in Vietnam, showcasing automobiles and their parts. The exhibition spans 15,000㎡ and features over 200 companies presenting automobiles, machinery equipment, eco-friendly electric and hydrogen vehicles, materials, parts, and peripheral devices.
Ulju-gun and Ulsan Technopark planned this exhibition hall operation to promote the excellence of small and medium-sized enterprises located in Ulju-gun and to provide opportunities to pioneer markets in Southeast Asian countries using Vietnam as a foothold.
The event included a market development group composed of 10 companies: ▲KAR ▲NGVI ▲PG Metal ▲Lopha ▲Twin Road ▲Oseong Tech ▲Top IND ▲Jihyun Tech ▲Korea Mold ▲CN Lube.
During the event, the Ulju-gun market development group successfully concluded export consultations worth a total of 13.3 million USD, including cooperation talks with VM MOTOR, a mid-sized company specializing in heavy equipment and commercial vehicles, and export consultations with SAMCO, Vietnam’s largest bus company.
Additionally, buyers in logistics and local automotive parts companies in Vietnam showed high interest in automotive oil, automation systems, and gas and hydrogen tanks.
In particular, KAR submitted an investment consultation and a 4.1 million USD estimate for the operation of a future commercial vehicle modification project to NANO POWERTECH, which won the Vietnamese government’s future commercial vehicle modification project.
Moreover, the market development group visited the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency in Vietnam to understand the Vietnamese automotive market and its prospects, and held a meeting with Shim Tae-yoon, Consul of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, who visited the exhibition, to explore cooperation plans for future market entry.
An official from Ulju-gun stated, “We will actively support the establishment of global networks and market development for small and medium-sized enterprises in Ulju-gun through participation in overseas exhibitions. In particular, we hope this will serve as an opportunity to build close cooperative relationships with local companies in the automotive industry and develop into a continuous exchange platform.”
