Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is recruiting candidates for the 'Special Support Project for At-Risk Youth' from the 17th until May 31.
The Special Support Project for At-Risk Youth targets at-risk youth aged 9 to 24 who do not have guardians or are not effectively protected by their guardians, providing direct support such as cash benefits or related services including health, academics, and counseling.
Starting this year, the selection criteria have been revised to include youth outside of school as well as reclusive youth with household income below 100% of the median income (based on parents' income) who lack sufficient guardian support and need assistance with daily life or academics.
Applications can be submitted by the youth themselves, guardians, youth leaders, teachers, social workers, or related public officials through the local town or township office of their residence. Support recipients will be determined through a welfare review committee and notified in writing in June.
Support includes living assistance (up to 650,000 KRW per month), health support (around 2,000,000 KRW annually), academic support (up to 300,000 KRW per month), and self-reliance support (up to 360,000 KRW per month).
County Governor Son Byeong-bok stated, “We hope to raise awareness for the healthy growth of at-risk youth facing economic difficulties and that various support benefits will reach those youth in need.”
