Scoot Airlines, a Singaporean carrier, started operating the Jeju-Singapore route three times a week in June last year and currently operates direct flights between Jeju and Singapore five times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday), maintaining a load factor of over 80% as of 2023.

Furthermore, the corporation announced its 2023 incentive plan to expand new international routes at Jeju Airport, planning to offer 50-100% discounts on airport facility usage fees such as landing and parking fees for 2-3 years to airlines launching new international routes.

In addition, to normalize international demand at regional airports, the corporation will support airlines with up to 20 million KRW per route for overseas route marketing activities based on regular flights. Routes such as Jeju-Beijing and Jeju-Nanjing are expected to be eligible for support.

Details about these incentives can be found on the Korea Airports Corporation website.

Currently, international routes operating to and from Jeju include Scoot Airlines Jeju-Singapore, Korean Air Jeju-Beijing, T’way Air Jeju-Osaka, Jeju-Taipei, Spring Airlines Jeju-Shanghai, Juneyao Airlines Jeju-Nanjing, Jeju-Shanghai, China Eastern Airlines Jeju-Shanghai, and Tigerair Taiwan Jeju-Taipei, covering 8 routes across 6 countries, with plans for continuous expansion.

Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Airport stated, “We expect the activation of international routes through incentives for new launches and increased flights at Jeju International Airport, which will further enhance the status of Jeju as a tourist city and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”

They added, “We will continue to strive not only to recover international flights to pre-COVID-19 levels but also to surpass them and activate international routes at Jeju International Airport.”
