Namwon City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Choi Kyung-sik), which entrusts the operation of the Namwon City Out-of-School Youth Support Center (Director Jeong Il-shin) to the Christian Youth Association (CYA), visited the 2023 Korea Drone & UAM Expo held in Songdo, Incheon together with out-of-school youth.
According to the city on the 18th, the expo held in Songdo, Incheon, under the theme "A New Daily Life Changed by Drone & UAM, Drone Transportation & Delivery, Leisure Sports!" is an event to promote the growth and technological prowess of Korea's excellent drone industry both domestically and internationally.
The out-of-school youth who participated in the expo watched drone soccer tournaments and drone racing competitions held at the expo, and had hands-on experiences with drone soccer games using video equipment and various drone activities.
The out-of-school youth said, "It is very fascinating that drones, which we usually knew about, are utilized in such diverse ways," and "We were once again amazed by our country's outstanding technological capabilities."
They added, "Thanks to Namwon City's active support, we were able to have a valuable experience at a festival that is difficult to participate in individually," expressing their gratitude.
Jeong Il-shin, director of the Namwon City Out-of-School Youth Support Center, said, "We will continue to support out-of-school youth to have various experiences," and "We will strive to create a Namwon City Out-of-School Youth Support Center that grows together with the local community."
The Namwon City Out-of-School Youth Support Center is an institution that supports out-of-school youth to grow into healthy members of society by providing counseling and educational support, job experience and employment support, and self-reliance support, considering the personal characteristics and needs of out-of-school youth in accordance with the Act on Support for Out-of-School Youth.
