Expectations for
Improved Living and Welfare of Residents Near Power Plants
The Hail Welfare and Culture Center, a long-awaited project for the residents of Hail-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, opened its doors on the 18th and began operations for the community.
On this day, a completion ceremony for the 'Hail Welfare and Culture Center' was held at 665-1 Hakrim-ri, Hail-myeon, attended by about 100 people including Lee Sang-geun, the county governor, Choi Eul-seok, chairman of the Goseong County Council, key organization heads, and local residents, hosted by Goseong Green Power.
Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam's Hail Welfare and Culture Center opened its doors on the 18th and began operations for the residents.
The Hail Welfare and Culture Center was selected as a special support project for areas surrounding power plants in 2020. Following a consignment contract with Goseong-gun, Goseong Green Power was designated as the project executor and constructed from 2021 to 2023 with a budget of 4.3 billion KRW. The center is a two-story building with a total floor area of 1,229.4㎡.
Inside, there are a bathhouse, fitness room, main auditorium, and multipurpose room, which will be used to promote the health of local residents and serve as a space for community activities.
Bae Jong-rin, chairman of the promotion committee, said, “I am grateful to Goseong-gun, the county council, and everyone involved for resolving the long-standing wish of the local residents and creating a convenience facility in Hail-myeon.”
Governor Lee expressed his sincere thanks to the residents of Hail-myeon, including Chairman Bae Jong-rin, who worked hard for the successful project implementation, and said, “We expect the Hail Welfare and Culture Center to be used not only as a leisure space for the residents of Hail-myeon to improve their health but also as a place for community harmony and communication.”
Meanwhile, the Goseong-gun power plant surrounding area support project is implemented with the goal of developing the areas around power plants and improving the welfare of residents.
