XL8, MediaCat 2.0 Launches... Collaboration Features Added

XL8, a developer of AI machine translation solutions specialized in video media content, released version 2.0 of its platform 'MediaCat' for media content localization on the 18th. Since its launch in September, MediaCat's subscriber count has increased by 200% in just six months. Version 2.0 includes collaboration features to support efficient video translation work.

MediaCat consists of automatic speech recognition, machine translation capable of simultaneous multilingual translation, and synthetic voice features. Video translation and localization can be done with just a few clicks. At each stage, editors can be used for post-editing the final output to improve accuracy. It supports a total of 77 language pairs, including widely spoken languages such as Korean, English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, and French, as well as relatively less commonly used languages like Burmese, Serbian, Latvian, Finnish, and Hebrew.

CEO Younghoon Jung said, "MediaCat has evolved in the fragmented market of media content production tools, with AI performing localization tasks such as speech recognition, transcription, translation, and dubbing," adding, "It reduces the time and cost required for human work and provides a new workflow for localization." He further explained, "MediaCat 2.0 advances this concept by focusing on comprehensive collaboration features to create multilingual content ready for production."

MediaCat 2.0 is suitable for professionals who collaborate to produce high-quality subtitles and provide them to suppliers, whether multiple translators or translators handling various languages. It allows separation of individual and team workspaces, invitation of collaborators to created team workspaces, and setting specific language access permissions per project, enabling joint translation of large volumes of video subtitles.
