Due to High Inflation, Increased Sales of Ready Meals from Market Kurly at Chicken and Pizza Restaurants...

Seasoned Chicken Sales Double

Kurly announced on the 18th that sales of convenient meals such as chicken and pizza, which can be chosen instead of dining out amid high inflation, are on the rise.

It explained that due to recent increases in dining out prices and the burden of delivery food costs, consumers are showing growing popularity for convenient meals that can be cooked at home. Among the convenient meals sold on Market Kurly, the sales volume of seasoned chicken increased by 100%, chicken wings by 35%, and chicken products by 12% compared to the same period last year from the beginning of this year to April.

'Dumari 99 Chicken,' launched on Market Kurly in November last year, sold more than 150,000 pieces within six months of its release. It is said to have received high consumer response by offering two pieces of old-fashioned chicken for 9,900 won, capturing both taste and price. There have also been more than 12,000 reviews.

In the pizza category, 'Motor City Detroit Pizza' ranked high in sales. It is popular because cooking it using an air fryer can replicate a taste similar to that of stores. Sales in April this year increased more than threefold compared to its launch in December last year.

Thanks to the popularity of convenient meals, the variety of launched products is also increasing. Market Kurly released '99 Hot Dog' following the popularity of Dumari 99 Chicken. A set of 10 hot dogs sold more than 35,000 units within a month of launch. New products such as 'Apgujeong Pocha's' buffalo drumettes, barbecue wings, barbecue drumettes, which allow tasting chicken by parts, and 'Downtowner's' signature hot dogs are also gaining popularity among new items.

A Market Kurly official said, "We plan to continuously introduce products to reduce the burden on shopping baskets in the future."
