Strengthening Resident Autonomy Capabilities Through Exchange, Establishing a Foundation for Mutual Growth
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) promoted a sisterhood agreement ceremony on the 16th to strengthen regional competitiveness through win-win cooperation with Dong-gu, Ulsan Metropolitan City.
The sisterhood agreement ceremony was held in the situation room of Dong-gu Office, Ulsan, attended by about 30 people including Lee Sang-cheol, Governor of Gokseong-gun, Kim Jong-hoon, Mayor of Dong-gu, Yoon Young-gyu, Chairman of Gokseong County Council, and Park Kyung-ok, Chairman of Dong-gu Council.
Gokseong-gun and Dong-gu, Ulsan have maintained exchanges in eco-friendly rice school meal supply and urban landscape fields, and established a sisterhood to strengthen practical cooperation.
They set agriculture and fisheries as the main cooperation fields, including expanding sales channels for agricultural and marine products to increase residents' income, and an online win-win exhibition for agricultural and marine products. In addition, they prepared a foundation for mutual growth in various fields such as regional revitalization through urban regeneration and strengthening residents' autonomy capabilities through private exchanges.
Lee Sang-cheol, Governor of Gokseong-gun, said, "I hope today's sisterhood will be a bond that leads to the development of agriculture, economy, tourism and culture, as well as the harmony of local residents, and we will promote exchanges to achieve win-win development by utilizing the different regional characteristics."
Gokseong-gun has sisterhood agreements with nine basic local governments, including Dong-gu, Ulsan.
