Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 17th that President Yoon Hyeong-jung attended the 35th International Civil Aviation Organization (ACI) Asia-Pacific Regional Board Meeting and the 18th General Assembly held in Kobe, Japan, for two days starting from the 16th.
President Yoon held relay meetings with the ACI executive board and key member country leaders, requesting active interest and cooperation for the 'Airport Innovate' event scheduled to be held by the corporation in Busan in 2025. He also asked for support in attracting the '2030 Busan Expo.'
Airport Innovate is a large-scale international event where airport operators from 171 ACI member countries worldwide and aviation industry leaders gather to discuss future aviation mobility innovations and the development direction of the airport and aviation industries. The first annual meeting is scheduled to be held in Muscat, Oman, this November.
The venue for the 2024 next meeting has not yet been decided amid fierce competition among European countries. Since the first half of last year, the corporation has proactively conducted a bid to host the 2025 event. In December last year, at the 34th ACI Board Meeting, Busan's successful bid to host 'Airport Innovate 2025' was confirmed.
