Business Agreement Signed for Guide Patrol Robot Project
Enhancing Competitiveness of Robot Services
SK Shieldus (CEO Park Jin-hyo) announced on the 17th that it has signed a business agreement for cooperation in the guide patrol robot business with autonomous patrol robot specialist company Dogu Gonggan (CEO Kim Jin-hyo).
Guide patrol robots are service robots that help improve facility safety and customer service in various environments such as shopping malls, hospitals, and museums. Through this business agreement, the two companies plan to combine SK Shieldus's expertise in security management and robot business operations with Dogu Gonggan's autonomous robot technology to expand the guide patrol robot industry. They also plan to enhance customer convenience through a robot subscription service.
First, SK Shieldus will be responsible for overall business operations including customer sales, management, and service of the guide patrol robots introduced by Dogu Gonggan, utilizing its nationwide infrastructure network. Customers can receive facility guidance, fire alarms, and emergency situation detection support anywhere indoors and outdoors through the guide patrol robots. The robots provide visitor guidance and assistance to customers, improving operational efficiency at business sites. Additionally, the robots can autonomously perform the entire process from patrol to charging, enabling unmanned operation, and real-time monitoring and remote control are possible through cameras and sensors installed on the robots.
Dogu Gonggan will provide customized robots equipped with functions tailored to customer needs and will be responsible for technical support. In particular, they plan to introduce guide patrol robots optimized for situations and environments by combining the AI security technology applied to autonomous robots with SK Shieldus's expertise in robot business operations.
The two companies will offer guide patrol robots as a robot subscription service to lower the entry barriers for robot use. Through this, customers can significantly reduce the initial investment and maintenance costs required for robot introduction and use as many robots as needed depending on the timing. The two companies also agreed to cooperate throughout the entire process of adopting patrol guide robots, from consulting to installation, operation, and maintenance.
Kim Yun-ho, Head of Growth Promotion at SK Shieldus, said, "Through collaboration with Dogu Gonggan, we expect to provide customers with safer and more convenient customized robots," adding, "We will lead the expansion of the guide patrol robot business by leveraging SK Shieldus's security and robot service expertise and continue strategic partnerships to secure clients."
