Connected car security company SaesolTech announced on the 17th that it has joined the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), which includes companies across the mobility industry such as automobile manufacturers, mobile carriers, Apple, Qualcomm, Intel, LG Electronics, and Samsung Electronics.
5GAA is an organization formed by telecommunications equipment companies like Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, and Nokia, chip manufacturers such as Qualcomm and Intel, and automakers including Audi AG, BMW Group, and Daimler AG, aimed at promoting the application of 5G communication technology to future mobility.
SaesolTech plans to carry out activities related to V2X security certification system testing and mobile edge computing services, focusing on the cybersecurity working group, and specifically will play a role in regularly reporting on Korea's V2X security technology and policy trends.
Additionally, at the official 5GAA conference held on May 11 at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul under the theme "The Future of Connected Mobility in Korea," Kim Jun-woo, head of research at SaesolTech, delivered a presentation on the current status of Korea's connected mobility security technology and policies.
Kim Jun-woo, head of research at SaesolTech, stated, "In preparation for the imminent commercialization of V2X services, we joined 5GAA, which aims to expand autonomous driving services through communication, and I feel a heavy responsibility to contribute to the global exchange of Korea's V2X security policies and technology trends."
