At around 11:22 AM on the 15th, an explosion occurred at a factory in Daehap Industrial Complex, Daehap-myeon, Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, injuring one person in their 40s with burns.
According to Changnyeong Police Station and Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters on the 16th, the explosion happened during the melting of scrap aluminum, damaging a forklift, the right wall of the factory, and the warehouse building, causing property damage estimated by the fire department at 150 million KRW.
One man sustained burns from the accident and was transferred to a specialized burn hospital in the Daegu area.
The police and fire authorities are analyzing CCTV footage inside the factory and interviewing factory personnel to determine the exact cause of the accident.
A joint on-site investigation by police and fire officials is planned for the 17th.
