Conducted from June 16 to July 31

Sample households aged 19 and over

Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will conduct the "2023 Community Health Survey" from the 16th to July 31st. This health survey, aimed at securing health statistical data of local residents, is being carried out in collaboration with Gyeongsang National University.

The survey targets adults aged 19 and over among household members of sample households selected by statistical experts. The survey is conducted through a one-on-one interview method using a tablet PC, with experienced surveyors visiting homes directly, based on survey questions finalized at the Community Health Survey Steering Committee meeting.

The survey items cover a total of 17 areas and 145 questions, including ▲smoking ▲alcohol consumption ▲safety awareness ▲physical activity ▲dietary habits ▲obesity and weight control ▲oral health ▲mental health ▲vaccination and screening ▲morbidity ▲medical utilization ▲accidents and poisoning (falls), among others.

However, due to COVID-19, physical measurements such as height, weight, and blood pressure, as well as regional selection surveys, have not been conducted since 2020, and COVID-19 related questions have not been included since 2023.

In particular, to prevent infectious diseases such as COVID-19, both surveyors and respondents plan to wear masks. Additionally, surveyors will check their temperature before the survey, report their daily health status, and recheck the temperature of the survey participants before proceeding. Participants in the survey will also receive a small gift certificate.

A county official stated, "The results of the Community Health Survey are used for establishing health policies and providing local health services," and added, "As confidentiality is guaranteed under the Statistics Act, we ask for the active cooperation of residents selected as sample households."

Meanwhile, the Community Health Survey is conducted annually by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency under the Ministry of Health and Welfare to produce health statistics tailored to regional characteristics.

The collected data is utilized for establishing local health care plans and implementing various health projects.
