Industry Site-Integrated Social Integration Program Launch
On the 15th, Changwon National University’s Multicultural Promotion Center announced that it will be the first in the nation to implement Korean language education at industrial sites.
According to the university, the Multicultural Promotion Center at Changwon National University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and the Changwon Immigration Office, will be the first in Korea to carry out the ‘Industry Site-Oriented Social Integration Program.’
The Korean language education, conducted directly at industrial sites where foreign workers are employed, was first implemented on the 8th for 102 foreign workers at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.
Subsequently, a total of 335 foreign workers at shipyards in the Geoje area, including Samsung Heavy Industries, are scheduled to receive education until December.

The Multicultural Promotion Center at Changwon National University serves as the Gyeongnam 2 branch of the Ministry of Justice’s Social Integration Program Social Integration Center, providing immigrants with education in Korean language and culture to help them easily integrate into the local community.
Ahn Suk-yeol, head of the Immigration Office, stated, “Along with this program, we will support the necessary education for foreign workers to adapt and stay early.”
Baek Kyung-jin, director of the Promotion Center, said, “We hope that through this program, foreign workers will quickly adapt to their companies and local communities,” adding, “We will continue to provide multifaceted education for the stable settlement of foreigners.”
