According to the county on the 15th, 10 users from the three libraries of Yeongam, Samho, and Haksan attended the Thursday dialogue.

They had a warm and friendly discussion with Governor U Seung-hee about their reasons for using the libraries, requests for operational improvements, and personal experiences.

Park Kyung-ran, a user of Haksan Library, said, “I am glad that Haksan Library opened in Yeongam, where cultural spaces are lacking,” and suggested, “I hope the library becomes a play and cultural space for children, and it would be great if various educational programs are operated in addition to reading.”

Governor U Seung-hee stated, “We will transform the library beyond its traditional role of providing knowledge and information into an open space that accommodates the diverse service needs of residents,” adding, “We will make efforts to promptly review and reflect any various opinions in county administration whenever they are given.”

Yeongam County opened Yeongam County Library in Yeongam-eup in 1994, Samho Library in 2003, and Haksan Library this year, and is currently operating them. The three libraries in Yeongam serve as representative knowledge and cultural communication spaces in the region.
