On the 16th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that the three organizations signed the MOU at the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul to protect and support small business owners by strengthening security in unmanned stores. Recently, as contactless interactions have become routine, the number of unmanned stores has increased, along with crimes such as theft, robbery, and property damage within these stores, raising interest in how to prevent them.

The three organizations will cooperate on ▲ spreading and applying safety technologies to unmanned stores within their jurisdictions ▲ analyzing changes in crime rates targeting unmanned stores ▲ conducting policy research to create a safe industrial ecosystem for unmanned stores ▲ collecting opinions from stakeholders such as small business owners, investigators, and users related to unmanned stores ▲ jointly promoting business publicity and awareness activities.

The Korea Internet & Security Agency will support the spread of safety security technologies for unmanned stores in Yeongdeungpo District, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (Yeongdeungpo Police Station) will analyze trends in crime reduction in unmanned stores within its jurisdiction, and the Yeongdeungpo District Office will handle business promotion and awareness-raising activities. Based on this, they plan to actively cooperate in future policy research related to the introduction of safety security technologies for unmanned stores. Safety security technologies include access authentication systems using QR codes and intelligent CCTV.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated, "The rapidly increasing crimes related to unmanned stores are difficult to prevent by the police alone," and added, "We will continuously expand the unmanned store crime prevention cooperation project with small business owners and related organizations through this opportunity."
