Collaboration with Temple Food Expert Park Seonghee
Utilizing Alternative Meat and Plant-Based Bread
Shinsegae Food announced on the 15th that it will provide a plant-based nutritional meal for children, developed using temple food expert Park Seong-hee, alternative meat 'Better Meat', 100% plant-based bread, and plant-based health ingredients, to the novice monks participating in the Borisu Sprout School held at Jogyesa Temple.

The Borisu Sprout School is a short-term ordination program for children aged 6 to 7, conducted by Jogyesa Temple, the head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, until the 29th in preparation for Buddha's Birthday.
The plant-based nutritional meal for children introduced by Shinsegae Food consists of about 20 set menus made with plant-based ingredients such as alternative meat, bread, and beverages, along with healthy grains, organic vegetables, and fresh fruits, providing essential nutrients for growth. In particular, by using the plant-based alternative meat Better Meat, it replicates the taste and texture of steak, meatballs, and bulgogi, which children enjoy, allowing them to enjoy these without concerns about animal fats, cholesterol, or chemical preservatives.
During the Borisu Sprout School period, Shinsegae Food will dispatch professional chefs to Jogyesa Temple once a week to provide special healthy meals for the novice monks. Additionally, plant-based ingredients will be used to provide lunch boxes and snacks needed for soccer tournaments, Dharma assemblies, field trips, and Buddha's Birthday events.
A Shinsegae Food official stated, "We plan to continue various socially and culturally valuable activities using alternative foods."
