The 'Cheongsong-gun CCTV Integrated Control Center' is playing a crucial role as a guardian of the residents' safety by protecting their lives and property through 24-hour real-time monitoring.
Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, contributed significantly to resolving incidents by providing over 30 real-time reports last year, including reports of suspicious behavior, protection of intoxicated individuals, and disaster occurrence reports, as well as granting access to more than 120 CCTV video footage for crime investigations and missing person searches to relevant agencies.
In particular, in December last year, the center promptly reported and responded to a fire incident that occurred in a sparsely populated area late at night, preventing secondary accidents. Additionally, it quickly confirmed and reported emergencies such as patient occurrences, vehicle fires, and wind damage, greatly contributing to the prevention of safety accidents and reduction of various damages.
Furthermore, by expanding CCTV coverage in crime-vulnerable areas and improving image quality, the center has been providing video materials for resolving various accidents and incidents, significantly aiding in the apprehension of criminals and investigations of traffic accident damages.
In recognition of these contributions, the center received a commendation for reporting achievements from the Cheongsong Police Station in September last year.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “CCTV plays a decisive role in crime prevention and investigations, and it also helps reduce damage by quickly assessing situations during various disasters, thereby protecting the safety of our residents. Moving forward, we will continue to expand CCTV coverage and work closely with related agencies to build a more comprehensive social safety net, minimize blind spots in crime prevention, and do our best to ensure that residents can live safe and happy lives.”
Since its opening in 2018, the Cheongsong-gun CCTV Integrated Control Center has been staffed by 16 monitoring personnel working in four shifts, three teams, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The center monitors approximately 800 CCTVs related to daily safety issues such as criminal activities, missing persons, and disasters, and promptly notifies the police station and relevant departments of related agencies to take the lead in protecting residents' safety and property.
