Women from Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Gather... Hanmaeum Sports Festival Held

2023 Women-Friendly Mini Expo Also Held

Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, and the Goseong-gun Women's Association held the 3rd Goseong-gun Women's Association Unity Sports Festival on the 12th at the Goseong-gun Indoor Gymnasium, with about 250 participants.

The Unity Sports Festival is an event organized to strengthen cooperation and harmony among the organizations affiliated with the Women's Association. It started in 2019 but was not held due to COVID-19 until the 2nd event in 2022, and this year marks the 3rd event.

On the 12th, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, and the Goseong-gun Women's Association held the Goseong-gun Women's Association Unity Sports Festival at the Goseong-gun Indoor Gymnasium.

On this day, about 250 people attended, including Lee Sang-geun, the county governor, Jeong Jeom-sik, a member of the National Assembly, Baek Su-myeong and Heo Dong-won, members of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council, Kim Hyang-suk, vice-chairperson of the Goseong-gun Council and council members, presidents and members of organizations affiliated with the Women's Association, advisors, and general participants. The event included ▲a pre-ceremony performance together ▲a commemorative ceremony ▲a cheerful sports day ▲a post-ceremony performance ▲and a harmony gathering.

Additionally, at the concurrently held 2023 Goseong-gun Women-Friendly Mini Expo, various booths offered diverse experiential events such as employment counseling to enhance the employment capabilities of women who have experienced career interruptions within Goseong-gun, information exchange, and image consulting, which attracted the interest of participants.

In addition, there were 10 other booths available for promotion and participatory experiences.

Governor Lee said, “I deeply appreciate your hard work as volunteers who actively participate not only in local community volunteer work but also in various ongoing events.” He added, “I hope this event will be an opportunity to further enhance your self-esteem and pride, and I look forward to the revitalization of the Goseong-gun Women's Association.”

Assemblyman Jeong said, “I thank the members of the Goseong-gun Women's Association who have contributed to the development of the local community through the promotion of women's rights and gender equality and various volunteer activities.” He continued, “I hope today’s event will be a meaningful time to strengthen communication and harmony among members and prepare for a new leap forward. I will continue to pay attention to the activation of the Women's Association.”
