Hanjin announced on the 12th that it conducted an emergency response drill together with the Incheon Yeongjong Fire Station at the Incheon Airport GDC (Global Distribution Center) located in the Incheon International Airport Free Trade Zone.
To enhance disaster response capabilities, Hanjin previously conducted the ‘Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill’ in November last year at the Namseoul Integrated Logistics Center located in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, in collaboration with Geumcheon-gu and the Geumcheon Fire Station.
The drill held on the 11th also involved 10 vehicles and about 30 firefighters from the Yeongjong Fire Station, conducting a joint public-private training to manage and recover from a large-scale fire and disaster situation at the logistics center.
After a preliminary drill on the 8th, the main drill that started on the 11th was directly observed by CEO Nosam Seok and President Cho Hyunmin, who closely monitored the entire training process and emphasized the importance of safety to on-site staff to proactively respond to risk factors.

The drill, which began at 2 p.m., simulated a fire outbreak at the workplace facilities within the Incheon Airport GDC. All logistics center operations were halted, and all workers evacuated to safe locations, followed by emergency first aid and transport training for injured patients, as well as fire suppression exercises at the logistics center.
Additionally, Hanjin formed a headquarters situation room to support the management and recovery of the disaster situation through phone calls, emails, and messengers during work, alongside the on-site fire suppression drill at the Incheon Airport GDC.
Following the ‘Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill’ at the Namseoul Integrated Logistics Center in the second half of last year, Hanjin plans to conduct joint public-private safety drills at one of its major logistics centers in the second half of 2023, including the emergency response drill at the Incheon Airport GDC in the first half of 2023.
Through these efforts, Hanjin aims to familiarize employees with emergency response manuals to be promptly followed in disaster situations and to enhance safety awareness and emergency response capabilities. A Hanjin official stated, “Our company is committed to building a ‘Safety First’ culture by strengthening regular, occasional, and special preventive inspection activities through a dedicated safety organization and professional personnel. We will continue to enhance our emergency response capabilities to effectively respond to disaster situations and minimize damage through realistic drills.”
