Ulsan City Hosts Opening Ceremony of the 17th National Disabled Students Sports Festival

Welcome Stage at Dongcheon Gymnasium on the 16th

The opening ceremony of the 17th National Disabled Students Sports Festival will be held on the 16th at 3:30 PM at Dongcheon Gymnasium.


Under the theme "The Dreaming Whale of Ulsan," about 3,000 people including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom and Korea Paralympic Committee President Jeong Jin-wan will attend the event.


The opening ceremony will feature choir, orchestra, and cheerleading performances, followed by the athletes' entrance and an opening address by the Korea Paralympic Committee President to mark the start of the competition.


The ceremony will conclude with performances by Ulsan ambassador Park Gun and trot prodigy Kim Tae-yeon.


Those holding tickets for the opening ceremony can enter early from 1:30 PM on the day of the event, and from 2:30 PM, all citizens can enter regardless of ticket possession.


The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on the Korea Paralympic Committee's YouTube channel.


An official from Ulsan City said, "This sports festival is an event where students are the main characters, and we hope for active interest from students, parents, teachers, and citizens."


The 17th National Disabled Students Sports Festival will be held from May 16 to 19 at 17 venues including Ulsan Sports Complex, and the 52nd National Youth Sports Festival will take place from May 27 to 30 over four days at 48 venues including Ulsan Sports Complex.
