Disclosure of Drilling Efficiency Improvement Technologies
How far has technology to improve drilling efficiency been developed?
Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dong-seop) participated in the 2023 Spring Conference of the Korean Society of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineers held at the Seoul National University Global Engineering Education Center on the 11th, presenting research results on oil and gas development technology and CCS.
On this day, the Oil Corporation disclosed research results on topics related to oil and gas development and CCS, such as "Equipment and Technology for Improving Drilling Efficiency," "Development of a Drilling Penetration Rate Optimization Model Based on Deep Neural Networks," and "Development of a Dissolved Carbon Dioxide Supply Device Using Teflon Micro Tubes," sharing them with the academic community.

Additionally, through a separately prepared promotional booth, the Oil Corporation introduced the status of oil and gas development projects, research tasks on unconventional oil production plants, and the disclosure system of petroleum development technology data databases.
Seo Jeong-gyu, head of the Global Technology Center at the Oil Corporation, explained, "The Oil Corporation is actively promoting not only traditional oil and gas development but also eco-friendly new energy businesses such as CCS, hydrogen, and ammonia."
Seo added, "Going forward, the Oil Corporation will continue active exchanges with academia through ongoing research activities in the eco-friendly new energy sector."
The "2023 Spring Conference of the Society of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineers," hosted by the Korean Society of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineers, is held over two days from the 11th to the 12th.
Along with the Oil Corporation, nine member organizations including the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources and the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation sponsor the event, with 14 domestic universities participating.
