Changwon Leisure Sports Park Lends a Hand with Farm Work in Dong-eup, Uichang-gu

Over 20 Members of Geunwultari Volunteer Group Also Participated

On the 11th, Changwon Leisure Sports Park in Gyeongnam visited a persimmon farming household in Dong-eup, Uichang-gu, which is struggling with labor shortages during the busy spring farming season, to assist with thinning persimmon flower buds.

On this day, 22 executives and employees of the Leisure Sports Park, including Chairman Lee Ho-guk, Executive Director Hong Myung-pyo, and Labor Union Chairman Kim Chang-tae, along with 19 members of the local volunteer group Geunwultari Volunteer Society, participated to share the difficulties faced by the farmers in a meaningful time together.


Chairman Lee Ho-guk said, “As the busy farming season begins, we conducted volunteer activities to help with the labor shortage and support timely farming,” adding, “We will frequently organize such events to alleviate the labor shortage of local farmers.”


Chairman Kim said, “It was an even more meaningful time because the volunteer activity was carried out together with labor and management as well as local volunteer groups,” and added, “I hope this labor assistance has eased the farmers’ difficulties even if just a little.”
