Maintenance of Changwon Sarang Gift Certificate Merchants Focused on Small Business Owners

Changwon Special City Cancels Registration of Franchise Stores with Annual Sales Exceeding 3 Billion KRW, Including Nonghyup Hanaro Mart and Large Marts

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 11th that, in accordance with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's '2023 Comprehensive Guidelines for Local Love Gift Certificate Issuance Support Project,' it will reorganize Changwon Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores mainly for small business owners and cancel the registration of 1,843 existing affiliated stores by the end of May.


The registration criteria for affiliated stores will be limited to an annual sales amount of 3 billion KRW or less, in line with the purpose of issuing Changwon Love Gift Certificates to 'support small business owners and revitalize the local economy.'

Among the 62,801 currently registered Changwon Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores, 1,843 stores will have their registrations canceled for exceeding the sales criteria. These include Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, large supermarkets, large hospitals and clinics, some gas stations, and convenience stores operated by large corporations, accounting for only 2.9% of all Changwon Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores.


The city has been informing the stores subject to cancellation since April and has been carrying out the cancellation process since the 1st of this month. The list of canceled affiliated stores can be checked on the city’s official website.


Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, With this reorganization of Changwon Love Gift Certificate usage locations, the gift certificates will be used in accordance with their intended purpose,” adding, “We will continue to conduct annual surveys and reorganizations of affiliated stores’ sales amounts so that small business owners can receive more benefits.”
