Strengthened On-Site Inspections and Regular Hygiene Safety Checks for Over 550 Business Sites
Hyundai Green Food, a comprehensive food company under Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 11th that it will implement a 'Special Food Hygiene Management System for the Summer Season.'
The Special Food Hygiene Management System for the summer season is designed to prevent food hygiene accidents caused by rising temperatures during the summer. It applies strengthened hygiene management standards throughout the entire process, including raw material preprocessing, cooking, and serving. This applies to over 550 group meal service and dining outlets operated by Hyundai Green Food.
Hyundai Green Food will conduct special food hygiene inspections at partner sites involved in the production and supply of soybean noodles, edible eggs, side dishes, and edible ice, whose consumption increases during the summer, and provide guidance on hygiene management guidelines.
Additionally, according to the 'FS Critical Control Foods (CCFs)' guidelines, which serve as a hygiene management strengthening guide, the use of ingredients prone to spoilage in hot weather will be suspended during the relevant period, or additional heating and cooking processes will be added. Food preparation and supply will be conducted following these enhanced manuals.
On-site inspections to prevent hygiene accidents will also be intensified. Hyundai Green Food’s hygiene management specialists will use professional inspection equipment such as temperature tracking devices and surface contamination meters to measure the hygiene levels at each business site and conduct on-site inspections to eliminate potential hygiene accident risks in advance. The inspection frequency, especially at large group meal service sites, has been increased from once a month to once every day or every two days.
Furthermore, to eliminate potential hazards that may occur during the delivery process of ingredients, hygiene management specialists will monitor the temperature during the distribution process of ingredients using temperature tracking devices.
A Hyundai Green Food official stated, "As early heat waves have made food safety and hygiene management more important than ever, we will do our best to prevent summer hygiene accidents such as food poisoning and provide high-quality food that customers can enjoy with peace of mind."
