Gyeonggi Province will dispatch a trade promotion delegation for the beauty industry to Eastern Europe, including Bulgaria and Croatia, this October.
On the 11th, the province announced that it is partnering with the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Venture Business Association to recruit 10 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the beauty-related sectors within the province to participate in the "Gyeonggi Province FTA Utilization Eastern Europe Beauty Trade Promotion Delegation" by the 19th.
Together with the participating companies, the province will send the trade promotion delegation from October 16 to 21 to target the Eastern European beauty markets, focusing on Bulgaria and Slovakia, which serve as gateways to the region.
The province will support the delegation with consultation venues, interpreters, group transportation (bus rental) costs, and free consulting on utilizing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
Eligibility for application requires that the business or factory location be in Gyeonggi Province according to the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises, and that the company’s export amount last year was under 20 million USD in the beauty sector.
Lee Min-woo, Director of the Investment and Trade Division of the province, stated, "Items based on various Korean cultural contents, from K-pop to K-drama, K-food, and K-beauty, are receiving positive responses in the European market," adding, "We plan to dispatch the trade promotion delegation to target the Eastern European beauty market."
