Andong City, Gyeongbuk Province (Mayor Kwon Ki-chang) signed a public-private cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 10th at the City Hall Communication Room with The Better Future and Heungwon General Construction to create a pet theme park.

Andong City, 'The Better Future', and 'Heungwon General Construction', who signed a public-private cooperation agreement for the creation of a pet theme park, are taking a commemorative photo.

Mayor Kwon Ki-chang, Kim Hyun-dong, CEO of The Better Future, and Kim Seung-ho, CEO of Heungwon General Construction attended the MOU signing ceremony.

Through this agreement, a 50 billion KRW-scale pet theme park will be established in the Anmak-dong area, including a senior town accommodating pets, an animal hospital and pet food center, and pet culture facilities (pet playground, swimming pool, walking trails).

The plan is to create a complex cultural space where pet owners and their pets coexist, generating jobs and developing stay-type tourism content to make it a place where tourists can stay longer.

Andong City, the project implementers, construction companies, and participating enterprises will build a close cooperative network to foster the pet industry and work together to revitalize the local economy.

Mayor Kwon Ki-chang said, “Through this MOU, I hope Andong City will play a leading role as a pet-friendly city in the rapidly growing pet industry market driven by low birth rates and aging population, bringing vitality to the local economy.”
