President Yoon Shares Reflections on One Year in Office via SNS
Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, on the 10th marking the first anniversary of President Yoon Suk-yeol's inauguration, said, "It has been a year in which the limitations of a minority ruling party were clearly felt," and expressed his thoughts that "this is the reason why the People Power Party must work even harder to win the 22nd general election, which is 11 months away."
On the same day, Kim stated through his social media (SNS), "It has been one year since the launch of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration," and added, "We will supplement the lacking parts and correct what needs to be fixed, and work more fiercely on reforms to restore the abnormal national system to normal as soon as possible."
He said, "Based on a properly functioning system, I will work even harder to create a society where the people can plan their own future and realize their dreams," and "The People Power Party will listen more closely to public opinion and become a true people's party that communicates closely with the people."
In this post, Kim also criticized the ruling Democratic Party of Korea's legislative rampage and emphasized the necessity of winning the general election.
He criticized, "Looking at the National Assembly, it is suffocating," and said, "The behavior shown by the major opposition party, the Democratic Party, over the past year was, in short, like 'tying the players' hands and feet and daring them to run'." Kim added, "The Democratic Party, which once boasted about 50 years of long-term rule, was judged by the people in last year's presidential election. In the successive local elections, the people clearly chose our People Power Party again, not the Democratic Party," and pointed out, "The Democratic Party is using the seats it gained three years ago as a weapon, not to amend laws for the people's livelihood, but to worsen laws for political strife."
He criticized, "In addition to the 'legislative outrage' to cover up the 'judicial risk and money envelope scandal risk,' recently, the 'coin risk' has also erupted," and said, "While manipulating 6 billion won in coins behind the scenes, showing worn-out socks and pretending to be a poor young politician, public funds are still being spent on this person today, which is utterly shameful."
