Hampyeong-gun Holds the 51st Parents' Day Commemoration Event

On the 7th, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 9th that it held the 51st Parents' Day commemorative event at the main stage of the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival site.


About 500 people attended the event, including Lee Sang-ik, the mayor of Hampyeong-gun, Yoon Aeng-rang, chairman of the county council, county council members, heads of related organizations, and senior citizens.


The commemorative ceremony proceeded in the order of the national anthem, awards for filial exemplars, commemorative speeches, and congratulatory speeches.

Awards plaques from the governor, mayor, and chairman of the county council were presented to nine filial exemplars who led by example in practicing filial piety.


Pre-ceremony events included ukulele performances, Narda Art Troupe, Indian Spirit, and performances by congratulatory singers, which enlivened the event.


In particular, the ukulele performance prepared by the seniors, who honed their skills through the Hampyeong Senior Welfare Center programs, received great applause from the attendees.


Mayor Lee Sang-ik said, "On Parents' Day, I hope everyone expresses the love and gratitude to their parents that they have not been able to convey until now."
