Yeonggwang-gun Conducts Joint Firefighting Drill to Prepare for Fire Incidents

Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kang Jong-man) announced on the 9th that a joint fire drill with Yeonggwang Fire Station was conducted around the county office building on the 8th.

This drill assumed a fire outbreak at the county office and focused on the self-defense fire brigade's rapid fire response capabilities, on-site response duties, and procedure familiarity. The sequence included 119 emergency calls and situation dissemination, swift evacuation guidance, fire suppression, and emergency patient transport.

In particular, about 150 members of the self-defense fire brigade, one ambulance, and four fire trucks from Yeonggwang Fire Station were dispatched to extinguish the fire. The drill realistically simulated rescuing survivors trapped in a building with blocked entrances by installing an air mattress.

A county official stated, “Through the annual joint fire drill, we check the response system with the fire station and ask the self-defense fire brigade to do their best with pride in protecting precious lives and the property of the residents.”
