Eleven Construction Co., a leading real estate developer in Korea, has selected Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® as the operator of the new luxury hotel ‘Rosewood Seoul,’ scheduled to open in 2027.
The hotel will be located next to Yongsan Park in the city center and will be part of ‘The Parkside Seoul,’ an innovative development on the former United Nations Command site. Situated in a culturally, historically, and geographically valuable area, the hotel will offer guests a unique urban retreat. It will also provide a vibrant space for new activities and dynamic human interaction through ‘The Parkside Seoul,’ a mixed-use complex featuring upscale shops and residential facilities connected to expansive outdoor spaces. Additionally, facing Noksapyeong-daero, one of Seoul’s main roads, the hotel will serve as a bridge connecting the traditional business district of Gangbuk with the modern Gangnam area.
Yongsan Park, near the hotel and reminiscent of New York’s Central Park and London’s Hyde Park, will extend from the Han River to the foothills of Namsan, emerging as a new central hub that includes major facilities such as the National Museum. Visitors to Rosewood Seoul will also enjoy luxury shopping, world-class dining, and elegant nightlife nearby in Itaewon, one of Seoul’s affluent neighborhoods.
Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group, stated, “Seoul is one of Asia’s most vibrant metropolises. It boasts cutting-edge technology, design, fashion, and popular culture while maintaining its unique history and traditions. We have long been watching Seoul, the heart of Korea, and with Asia expansion as a priority, we are excited to explore Seoul through Rosewood’s perspective. We are delighted to build a new hotel with Eleven Construction that showcases our distinctive qualities. A new generation of ultra-luxury travelers will soon turn their attention to Seoul.”
Eleven Construction Chairman Seok-oh Eom added, “We are very pleased that ‘The Parkside Seoul,’ a mixed-use development located in the historic heart of Seoul, will partner with Rosewood Hotel. Although this site is geographically at the very center of Seoul, it has returned to the Korean people for the first time in 111 years due to historical circumstances, making this development a historic event. We are confident that Rosewood Seoul, where Seoul’s dynamic charm of past and present meets Rosewood’s operational philosophy, will become a new landmark loved by discerning global travelers and Seoul citizens alike.”
Rosewood Seoul’s design, led by the renowned American architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, which has successfully completed projects such as Rosewood Hong Kong, Rosewood Bangkok, and Rosewood Guangzhou, is expected to embody Rosewood’s core philosophy of A Sense of Place® (the emotional connection to space). This principle ensures that each hotel’s location inspires the overall guest experience, and Rosewood Seoul is no exception. Drawing inspiration from Seoul’s futuristic lines and striking architecture, Rosewood Seoul will seamlessly blend into the sleek and modern Seoul skyline. Designed by the famous interior design firm Space Copenhagen, Rosewood Seoul will feature approximately 250 rooms, seven restaurants and bars, and a variety of ancillary facilities including a comprehensive wellness center. These facilities, designed to meet the expectations of both international and local guests, will be among the largest in Seoul and are expected to reshape the hotel industry landscape. Furthermore, the hotel will foster an atmosphere of hospitality and inspiration, creating a space where creators, innovators, and trendsetters can collaborate and enrich each other’s experiences.
Asaya, Rosewood’s comprehensive wellness space focused on physical, mental, and emotional well-being, will offer services under the Asaya name that reflect Koreans’ special interest and passion for health and beauty. Spanning 4,500 square meters, Asaya will include multiple treatment rooms, hydrotherapy and relaxation areas, indoor/outdoor swimming pools, luxury locker rooms and saunas, nail and hair salons, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an indoor golf facility. Other amenities will include a large 1,800-square-meter multipurpose banquet hall and Rosewood’s culturally based kids club, Rosewood Explorer.
Rosewood Seoul aims to provide as diverse an experience as the city itself. As the gateway to international business and a trendsetter in fashion, art, design, and music, Seoul, the capital of South Korea, perfectly aligns with Rosewood’s unique mission to offer luxury lifestyle experiences not only in Asia but globally.
