Seocho-gu to Hold Musical Gala Show 'Gratitude, Filial Piety' on May 8 at 2 PM at the Neutinamu Shelter
Part of the 'Walking with Art' Project, Featuring Active Actors from Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Offering a High-Quality Performance
Diverse Music Including Musical Theme Songs and Medleys, Along with Various Events Such as Carnation Presentations
Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold a musical gala show titled 'Gratitude, Filial Piety' on May 8 at 2 PM to celebrate Parents' Day, providing an enjoyable experience for both seniors and their families.
The performance will take place at the 3rd-floor Art Hall of the Neutinamu Shelter, a public facility located in Yeomgok-dong. The program includes musical theme songs from productions such as 'Sandglass,' 'Aladdin - A Whole New World,' 'Wicked - The Wizard and I,' and 'Frankenstein - In Your Dream,' as well as 'Seopyeonje - Resentment,' musical medleys, 70s and 80s Korean pop medleys, cello performances, and various events designed for family audiences to enjoy.
Notably, this performance is part of the 'Walking with Art' project, a collaboration between Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and Seoul's autonomous districts that brings performances closer to residents. Active actors from Sejong Center will participate directly, promising a higher level of performance quality.
Any Seocho-gu resident aged 55 or older can participate free of charge, and families are welcome to attend together. Admission starts at 1:30 PM, and attendees will receive carnations in celebration of Parents' Day. Special gifts will be given to the 5th, 8th, 40th, 58th, and 100th entrants as part of special events.
From May 2 to 4, the district visited the homes of over 1,100 vulnerable senior citizens to deliver 'Filial Piety Gift Packages' containing carnation corsages, health foods, and desserts. On May 4, the 51st Parents' Day commemorative event titled 'Love and Gratitude for Filial Piety' was held at the Seocho Cultural and Arts Center, attended by around 1,000 local seniors and residents, expressing gratitude to the elderly and fostering family harmony.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su of Seocho-gu stated, “We will continue to do our best to promote various projects in health, welfare, and lifelong education so that our seniors, who have devoted their lives to their families, can enjoy a happy and healthy old age.”
