Strong rain and wind hit Jeju, and flight operations at Jeju International Airport, which had been halted, are gradually resuming.
According to Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Airport on the 5th, flight operations at Jeju Airport began to gradually resume around 10 a.m. that day, with Korean Air flight KE1045 from Seoul Gimpo arriving in Jeju.
The scheduled flights for the day, including 13 additional flights (9 departures, 4 arrivals), totaled 488 flights (243 departures, 245 arrivals). As of 10 a.m., 198 domestic flights (99 departures, 99 arrivals) were canceled or expected to be canceled.
A Jeju Airport official said, "Although flight operations are gradually resuming, flight times may change depending on weather conditions, so passengers are advised to check with airlines in advance and come to the airport."
Currently, a sudden wind gust advisory and strong wind advisory are in effect at Jeju Airport. Due to this, more than 10,000 people, including about 6,000 students from 33 schools on school trips, have been stranded.
