Damyang-gun Hosts Metasequoia Road Walking Competition

"Walking and Enjoying Damyang Road for Health" Enjoying the Freshness of Damyang Together on a 3km One-Way Section

On the 4th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held a Metasequoia Road walking contest under the theme "Damyang Road! Walk, Enjoy, and Stay Healthy!" with participation from residents and tourists.

This walking contest was organized to allow tourists and residents visiting the ‘2023 New Bamboo Festival,’ held for the first time in four years, to walk together, enjoy the freshness of Damyang in May, and promote health.

Starting from the main stage of the festival, participants walked a 3 km one-way section of Metasequoia Road. Despite the inclement weather, many residents and tourists joined to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Damyang, ideal for walking.

Finishers of the contest were given souvenirs, and they were free to participate in the various colorful and interesting festival programs set up throughout the area.

County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “I hope that the residents and tourists who participated in the walking contest had a time to heal their body and mind while walking through the beautiful natural scenery,” and added, “I also hope everyone enjoys the many attractions and food at the festival, which runs until the 7th.”
