According to the county on the 4th, HFRS is an infectious disease caused by exposure to dried excreta of field mice in autumn, which enters the human respiratory tract or wounds. Its symptoms are characterized by acute fever, back pain, and bleeding.

Early symptoms resemble those of a cold or flu, followed by high fever, headache, back pain, renal failure, and bleeding. In severe cases, it can even lead to death.

Since people who frequently engage in outdoor activities are at higher risk of infection, the county recommends vaccination in advance to those at high risk of exposure to the HFRS virus, such as farmers and soldiers who often work outdoors.

The vaccination requires two doses administered one month apart, followed by an additional dose 12 months later to develop immunity. Once the three-dose vaccination series is completed, no further doses are necessary.

Those wishing to receive the vaccination can get it for free at the vaccination room on the first floor of the Sunchang-gun Health and Medical Center by presenting their ID.

For more details, please contact the vaccination room at the Sunchang-gun Health and Medical Center.
