Asiana Airlines announced on the 4th that it will hold special career lectures for youth at the National Aviation Museum in Gangseo-gu during the Children's Day holiday.
The lectures, titled "Dream Talk with Asiana Airlines," will be held twice each on the 5th and 6th. Each session has a capacity of 126 participants and will recruit elementary, middle, and high school students on a first-come, first-served basis through on-site registration.
Designed to share know-how directly from industry professionals with youth interested in the aviation industry, the lectures will feature current pilots, flight attendants, flight operations managers, and maintenance technicians belonging to the Asiana Airlines Education Donation Volunteer Group as speakers. The speakers will introduce topics such as ▲how to become a flight crew member ▲the duties of a cabin crew member ▲the role of a flight operations manager ▲the duties and pathway to becoming an aircraft maintenance technician ▲understanding aircraft ▲and the advantages of working as an airline employee.
Among the speakers is Senior Flight Attendant Im Ha-yeon, who attended an Asiana Airlines career special lecture during her student years and achieved her goal of becoming a flight attendant. Im applied and participated in the Asiana Airlines ‘Saekdongnarae Classroom’ during high school. She plans to share her personal experience of concretizing her once vague dream of becoming a flight attendant, as well as preparation tips and interview know-how for becoming a flight attendant.
Senior First Officer Lee Seung-won, who will also speak at the event, said, “It is meaningful to give a pilot career lecture at the National Aviation Museum, where one can experience aviation history and industry,” and added, “I hope that students who come with great interest in the aviation industry during the Children's Day holiday will grow into aviation industry professionals.”
Since establishing the first education donation volunteer group in the aviation industry in 2013, Asiana Airlines has conducted 3,588 lectures to date, with approximately 310,000 students attending the special lectures, building an unparalleled record of educational volunteer service in the aviation industry.
