Choi Ho-kwon, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, Attends the 51st Parents' Day Event on the 3rd and Pins Carnations on the Elderly
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the 51st Parents' Day event titled ‘Healthy Filial Piety! Happy Filial Piety!’ held at Yeongdeungpo Art Hall on the morning of the 3rd and pinned carnations on the elderly.
This event was hosted by the Yeongdeungpo-type Integrated Care Network, with about 200 participants including elderly receiving customized care, life support workers, and local residents.
The event included awarding commendations, pinning carnations, and celebratory performances to express gratitude for parental grace.

Gangnam District (Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) hosted the 51st Parents' Day event titled ‘Dreaming Opal Youth, The Spring of My Life is Today’ on the 3rd at Gangnam Community Center, inviting over 500 elderly guests.
The event was divided into two parts. Before the event, children from the district’s public daycare center association pinned carnations on the elderly as a way to commemorate Parents' Day.
In the first part, 17 meritorious persons including filial piety awardees, exemplary parents, and contributors to elderly welfare in the region were awarded commendations. The second part featured a celebratory performance with seven popular trot singers including Lee Ja-yeon, Kim Yeon-ja, Moon Hee-ok, and Kim Sang-bae, providing an exciting and enjoyable stage for the elderly along with Won-eum Broadcasting.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam District, stated, “We prepared an event for the elderly to enjoy during Family Month,” and added, “We will continue to provide various supports to ensure the happy later years of the elderly.”
Oh Seung-rok, Nowon District Mayor, Attends the ‘2023 Nowon District Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps Launch Ceremony’ on the 3rd
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the ‘2023 Nowon District Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps Launch Ceremony’ held at 10 a.m. on the 3rd in the large auditorium on the 2nd floor of the district office.
The Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps is a legally recognized private organization under the Natural Disaster Countermeasures Act, conducting various disaster prevention activities such as river patrols, forest fire prevention, operation of outdoor heat shelters and healing refrigerators, and snow removal in winter.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok and 187 members of the Nowon District Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps and proceeded with an opening declaration, introduction of the corps’ activities, congratulatory speeches, appointment letter presentations, and commemorative photo sessions.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok expressed, “I appreciate the hard work of the Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps for the safety of the residents,” and urged, “Please continue to work together to build a thorough safety net and strengthen the region’s autonomous disaster prevention capabilities so that Nowon can be a safe district.”

From the 3rd to the 5th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Play, Performance, and Experience Programs Operated Around Baebongsan Open Plaza

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, visited the ‘Baebongsan Park Children's Day Family Festival’ site on the morning of the 3rd and spent a joyful time with children.
The festival, held from the 3rd to the 5th in celebration of the 101st Children's Day, takes place at three locations: Baebongsan Open Plaza, Rock Climbing Wall, and Forest Playground, offering various fun and attractions.
The district prepared ▲play programs such as air playground, large block playground, children's fishing pond, and sand playground for children visiting Baebongsan Park; ▲experience programs including making companion plants, face painting, Goguryeo relic excavation experience, and 3-minute caricatures (on the 5th); and ▲performance programs such as jump rope shows, magic shows, and dance parties (on the 5th).
All programs except performances are available continuously during operating hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Lee Gi-jae, Yangcheon District Mayor, Attends the Opening Ceremony of the Public Cheongsol Daycare Center
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon District, attended the opening ceremony of the public Cheongsol Daycare Center located in Mok 3-dong on the afternoon of the 3rd.
The public Cheongsol Daycare Center is housed in a building completed in 1994. Due to safety vulnerabilities caused by aging facilities, the district has been carrying out reconstruction work since 2021.
The newly completed daycare center is a building with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 469.64㎡, allowing the childcare capacity to expand to about 80 children. Additionally, the interior, designed with eco-friendly architecture and certified as a barrier-free living environment, includes five childcare rooms, a playroom, a kitchen, and a director’s office, providing a comfortable and safe childcare service.
