Sae 최고위원, SBS Kim Taehyun's Political Show Interview
"Of course, it's right to call opposition party leaders for explanation"
Seo Young-kyo, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party of Korea, downplayed President Yoon Seok-yeol's proposal for a meeting with newly appointed floor leader Park Kwang-on, noting that Yoon has never met with Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung. She said, "It seems like he wanted to cause division, but will it really cause division?" and described it as a "very low move."
On the 3rd, Seo appeared on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' and said, "After returning from the Korea-US summit, it is appropriate to invite Lee and other opposition leaders to explain," adding, "Touching the floor leader like that was a losing move."
Seo emphasized, "The president did not go to the US in a personal capacity but as a representative of the people of the Republic of Korea," and argued, "There were many diplomatic issues due to provoking Russia and China even before going, so it is only natural to call opposition leaders and explain."
Seo explained, "In the past, former presidents Roh Moo-hyun, Park Geun-hye, Lee Myung-bak, and Moon Jae-in all invited opposition leaders to report after attending the Korea-US summit," adding, "Each president reported two or three times."
Regarding Floor Leader Park holding his first party meeting that afternoon, she said, "Since Park is the first-time floor leader, he will report on the leadership structure, floor chief, and deputy leadership team formation. Moving forward, this will be a meeting to proceed with party reform, so I think you can see it as a meeting asking everyone to participate together."
