BTS Suga "Let's Take a Selfie Together... iPhone Not Allowed, Only Galaxy"

After US Performance, Fan Service "You Can Only Film with Galaxy"
"My Home TV Is Samsung Too... Please Give Me Appliance Ads" Jokes Too

Idol group BTS member Suga sparked attention by setting the condition that selfies with fans could only be taken using Samsung Electronics' Galaxy phones. This demonstrated his exceptional sense of responsibility toward the product as an official model for Samsung smartphone advertisements.

On the 30th of last month, videos titled "The true model who only takes selfie videos with Galaxy," and "This video is dedicated to the Samsung chairman," were uploaded on YouTube. The footage captures moments from Suga's solo world tour concert held on the 29th in Newark, New Jersey, USA.

During the performance, Suga offered a special event to the fandom ARMY who came to see his show. He took selfies with fans using their phones. However, he set the condition that only those using Samsung's Galaxy smartphones could participate.

Suga told the fans, "When I ask for it, please give me only Galaxy phones. Not iPhones." He then repeated in English, "This product is Galaxy. No iPhone," making the fans smile.

After finishing the concert, Suga also showed his affection for Galaxy during a live broadcast on the communication platform Weverse.

He showed a sticker attached to the back of his Galaxy smartphone and said, "This is tour merchandise, and doesn't it go really well with Galaxy?" He joked, "Our home TV is Samsung too," and added, "Samsung should give me home appliance ads."

Netizens responded to Suga's special affection for Samsung Electronics with comments like "He has a sense of responsibility as a model," and "Samsung should give Yoon-gi (Suga's real name) home appliance ads."

Meanwhile, BTS has maintained a relationship with Samsung Electronics since 2020, serving as advertising models for the Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy foldable smartphones. There was even a 'Galaxy S20 Plus BTS Edition' released for BTS fans.

Last year, they promoted new products using BTS's team symbolic color purple. The color "Bora Purple," combining the Korean word for purple and the English word "purple," was applied to the standard Galaxy S22 model and Galaxy Z Flip4. Samsung Electronics MX (Mobile Experience) Division head (President) No Tae-moon also attracted attention by wearing a purple tie at a press conference.

At the Galaxy S23 series unpacked (new product launch) event in February this year, BTS member Jimin appeared briefly in a video. At that time, Samsung Electronics explained that the GIF featuring Jimin, filmed with a Galaxy smartphone, could be enhanced and have its resolution increased through AI technology applied GIF remastering.
