Happy Yanggu Cup National Youth Soccer Club Festival Held in Celebration of 'Family Month'

In celebration of May, the "Month of Family," the "2023 Happy Yanggu Cup National Youth Soccer Club Festival" will be held from the 5th to the 7th at the Yanggu Sports Complex in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon-do.

Yanggu-gun has long been recognized as a host for various soccer tournaments. It has gained nationwide attention by holding soccer festivals such as the "Peace Yanggu Cup," focused on youth soccer, and the "Yanggu Peace Cup," which brings together multicultural families and North Korean defectors.

SH Sports Agency, the organizer and host of this festival, has added a new "Mom's Division" (for mothers of soccer players and mothers in Korea) to the existing categories of 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and U12 divisions. In addition to soccer, the festival is preparing promotional marketing that links sports culture tourism with the development and promotion of various sightseeing spots, food, and entertainment in the Yanggu area, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy. The 2023 Yanggu Gomchwi Festival will also be held concurrently in Yanggu-gun. This is expected to be a good example of the beginning of sports culture tourism that connects local festivals with soccer festivals.

The matches will be held as 7-a-side for the elementary division and 5-a-side for the Mom's Division, with preliminaries on the 5th, main rounds on the 6th, and finals on the 7th. The match duration is a total of 15 minutes. Awards will be given in various categories including Classic Winner, Classic Runner-up, Classic 3rd Place, Challenge Winner, Challenge Runner-up, Challenge 3rd Place, Best Coach, Excellent Coach, Best Player, Excellent Player, and Fair Play Team. Prize money will be awarded in the form of Yanggu Love Gift Certificates to promote the local economy: Classic Winner (500,000 KRW), Classic Runner-up (300,000 KRW), Classic 3rd Place (200,000 KRW), Challenge Winner (200,000 KRW), Challenge Runner-up (150,000 KRW), and Challenge 3rd Place (100,000 KRW).
