According to Kyodo News on the 28th, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced a plan to cancel the removal of South Korea from the export control preferential list (white list) and to re-designate it as a preferential country.
Earlier, last month, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry withdrew export restrictions on three semiconductor-related items for South Korea. With this re-designation, all export restrictions on South Korea that have been in place since 2019 will be lifted.
