According to the city on the 27th, the Clean Jeonnam Best Village Creation project is a Jeollanam-do policy initiative aimed at ‘changing awareness,’ ‘environmental cleanup,’ and ‘landscape improvement,’ where residents lead efforts to improve village environments by 2025.
This year, 136 villages in the Naju area are participating. They plan to carry out landscape improvement projects tailored to each village’s characteristics, such as creating village symbols, painting mural fences, making gate nameplates, and establishing resident rest areas.
The city plans to enhance project completeness by deploying a consulting team to the eight villages selected through a consulting demand survey.
The consulting team consists of about 10 members, including village designers and public activity activists trained by the Naju Public Interest Activity Support Center.
Starting with Bangchon Village in Dado-myeon and Seondong Village in Bonghwang-myeon on the day, the team will inspect the progress of each village’s project and provide customized on-site consulting to strengthen resident-led capabilities until the 22nd of next month.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “I hope the village environments will be clean and beautiful again this year through the hands of residents,” and added, “I ask that you do your best in providing customized on-site consulting to maximize each village’s strengths and characteristics and to form a mature village community.”
