Comprehensive Communication on Organizational Culture, Personnel Management, Personal Interests, and More
On the 26th, Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, held a small-scale personnel empathy project called ‘Picnic Lunch Haha Hoho’ at Seoul Botanic Park to share ideas for improving organizational culture and district administration changes with MZ generation public officials.
The picnic lunch is an opportunity to break away from the usual rigid office environment and freely discuss overall district administration and share difficulties while eating lunch boxes with employees at Seoul Botanic Park.
The first session was held with 15 members of the Gangseo Innovation Junior Board club, mainly composed of MZ generation public officials, to discover practical tasks for organizational culture innovation.
On this day, Mayor Kim Tae-woo and the employees sat around indoors at Seoul Botanic Park, eating hamburgers and discussing various topics such as organizational adaptation, personnel management, and personal interests.
Mayor Kim Tae-woo actively empathized with the opinion of young public officials that “motivation is needed for employees who work quietly and diligently,” saying, “In addition to systems that encourage work motivation such as special promotions and the Gangseo Star Award, we are striving to prepare various measures to ensure benefits reach employees who work silently.”
He also emphasized the importance of work-family balance, work-life balance, and physical fitness management, sharing life wisdom as a senior public official who has experienced public service first-hand.
The picnic lunch will continue with employees from heavy workload departments, those involved in pledge projects, and staff responsible for civil complaints and grievance handling, starting with meetings with MZ generation public officials.
Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, “It was a time to have candid conversations with young employees in charge of practical work and hear diverse voices,” adding, “I will do my best to incorporate employees’ various opinions into ideas for district development and utilize them to discover policies for residents.”
Since the beginning of this year, Mayor Kim Tae-woo has been actively communicating for district changes, starting with the operation of the ‘Communication Train Meeting Residents Every Day’ and meetings with employees.
