Candy Photo Installed at Global Tour Concert Venues... Samsung Phones Preloaded with Filters and Cutting-Edge AI Technology
The camera app CandyPlus, which has been downloaded 300 million times, is partnering with the six-member K-pop group iKON to launch an offline photo booth called CandyPhoto.
On the 25th, CandyPlus announced that it had signed a contract with the idol group iKON and plans to install a "CandyZone" at iKON's worldwide tour concert venues. The CandyZone will feature CandyPlus's newly released photo booth, CandyPhoto.
The first installation of CandyPhoto will be at iKON's concert in Korea, held on the 5th of next month at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul. CandyPhoto's biggest advantage is its real-time facial recognition and artificial intelligence (AI) technology from CandyPlus, which allows fans and artists to take photos that look as if they are together. CandyPlus's real-time correction technology and various filter technologies have been recognized for their high quality, having been pre-installed on Samsung Electronics' mobile phones.
Through CandyPhoto, CandyPlus aims to showcase the excellence of its photo beauty technology offline and establish "K-Picture" as a new global culture. Previously, CandyPlus recorded over 300 million downloads worldwide, including Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East, and was selected as one of Google Play's Top 10 Apps of the Year in 2021.
The company explained that the exterior of CandyPhoto was designed to give users the feeling of taking photos while looking in a mirror at a dressing table. They also emphasized that the screen size was tripled to provide vividness, while the overall size is smaller than existing photo booths, allowing multiple CandyPhoto units to be installed in small stores or shop-in-shops.
Lee Geun-woo, CEO of CandyPlus, said, "As iKON embarks on a new start with the release of their new album, their image aligns well with CandyPlus, leading to the signing of a CF model contract. We will use new K-pop and K-Picture technologies to make CandyPlus a global brand."
