According to the industry on the 25th, CU will raise the prices of five types of piece chicken by up to 12.5% starting next month on the 1st. For example, chicken drumsticks, thighs, and spicy thighs will increase from 2,500 won to 2,700 won, Giant whole chicken from 4,000 won to 4,500 won, and Buffalo Bongbong sticks from 7,500 won to 7,900 won.

Seven Eleven will also raise the prices of four types of chicken. Fried whole chicken will go up from 10,900 won to 12,900 won, old-fashioned whole chicken from 7,900 won to 9,900 won, domestic half whole chicken from 4,400 won to 5,500 won, and domestic spicy whole chicken breast from 2,000 won to 2,400 won.

A convenience store industry official explained, "Price increases are inevitable due to rising raw material costs and labor expenses."
