Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun Joins 'Single-Use Plastics Zero Challenge'

Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun Joins 'Single-Use Plastics Zero Challenge' Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun is smiling brightly after participating in the 'Single-Use Products Zero Challenge' on the 24th.

On the 24th, Lee Jae-jun, mayor of Suwon City, participated in the 'Single-Use Products Zero Challenge,' pledging to reduce the use of disposable products in daily life.

Launched by Han Hwa-jin, Minister of Environment, on February 27, the 'Single-Use Products Zero Challenge' is a campaign aimed at reducing disposable product use and increasing the use of reusable products.

Designated institutions and individuals post on SNS promising to reduce disposable product use and then nominate the next institution to participate.

Mayor Lee Jae-jun stated, "Carbon neutrality is created in our daily lives," and urged, "Let us practice carbon neutrality in our daily lives by using tumblers, sorting waste, and maintaining appropriate indoor temperatures."

Having been recommended by Hong Nam-pyo, mayor of Changwon City, Mayor Lee Jae-jun nominated Lee Dong-hwan, mayor of Goyang City; Lee Young-in, chairman of Suwon Urban Foundation; and Song Young-wan, chairman of Suwon Youth Foundation as the next participants.

Along with Mayor Lee Jae-jun, Suwon City officials pledged last month to practice carbon neutrality and reduce disposable product use. Suwon City is conducting a relay campaign encouraging public officials to refrain from bringing disposable cups to promote the 'Disposable Product Reduction Movement.'

Additionally, the 10th of every month is designated as a 'Day Without Disposable Products (0),' and besides disposable cups, additional monthly items are selected to practice reducing disposable product use.
