Rising Trend After Improvement in Korea-Japan Relations and Explosive Attack
Fumio Kishida's approval rating for the Japanese Cabinet has surpassed 50% for the first time in eight months.
Japan's private broadcaster Fuji News Network (FNN) reported on the 24th that a telephone poll conducted from the 22nd to 23rd among 1,055 voters aged 18 and over nationwide (valid respondents) showed the Kishida Cabinet's approval rating at 50.7%.
This marks a 4.8 percentage point increase compared to last month, and it is the first time in eight months that the approval rating has exceeded 50% in this poll. This is believed to be due to recent diplomatic achievements, including improvements in Japan-South Korea relations.
The Kishida Cabinet's approval rating had been declining since the second half of last year, but it has shown an upward trend in Japanese media polls following an explosive attack on Prime Minister Kishida during an election campaign on the 15th.
